We have a new addition! Friends and Family celebrate Brianna Kaylee!

The Sky's on Fire! 11/03/2008

My office is on the east side of our home. I know this because the sun goes down on the other side of the building! On Monday night the third of November, when the white building across the street from me glowed an orangy pink, I knew there was one beautiful sunset just posing for a picture. These were taken from our third floor bathroom window. I do hope you enjoy them!

220 Toward Eagle Rock; Craig Creek & Ball Park Roads 11/02/2008

My trek this morning took me up 220 toward Eagle Rock. The sun brought the colors out in a magnificent way, even if the leaves have now passed peak. I was headed toward a bridge that I'd photographed last year, on Ball Park Road. My hope of getting the reflection of the colorful leaves in Craig Creek from the bridge were dashed (more like gone with the wind), but the bridge is still quite pretty.

Off Catawba Road, Botetourt County, VA 10/31/2008 (Autumn Lane)

Venturing down paths I have not gone before seemed to be the call of today. This is behind a neighborhood off Catawba Road. There is actually a round house on this hill side, but a road crew was blocking my good shot. I will have to go back and see if it is worth getting.

Tinker Mountain Road, Botetourt Co, VA 10/31/2008

As the title would indicate, these are of Tinker Mountain. Unfortunately Tinker has been well planted with power. In fact, this was a private road that ended at some kind of power station. The Roads that went to the top were gravel and did not look the type to take the Mustang up. Power or not, this is what the mountain looks like, and it is one of the more well known mountains in the area for its shape.

Mountains as seen from the Old ROA Airport Terminal 10/31/2008

These are the mountains in Salem as seen from the old Roanoke Airport Terminal. The first one is of Ft. Lewis Mountain. Which has a bowl feature to it.

From Fishburn Elementary School Grounds 10/31/2008

Tavia had a swim class today at the Gator Aquatic Center up next to Fishburn Elementary. The drive going into the complex is lined with trees that are just beautiful. The first PIC in this series is of Roanoke Mountain from the school grounds.

Balloons in the Morning! 10/31/2008

Fall mornings are a particularly good time to fly a hot air balloon. The Blue one with the orange and yellow checkerboard around it is a frequent flier in Botetourt. This is the first time I have seen the second balloon, which I find to be much prettier.

Poague's Mill 10/29/2008

Remember our Vet, Dr. Poague? I believe this to be his family homestead on Rt 221. I did my best to shoot around lines and cell towers, and hide them where possible. I found the colors too pretty to not include, even if the lines showed in some.
